Today, after a crazy lunch hour satisfying the curiosity of 10 year olds on the planets, I finally had some time to breathe. I even had the time to go for a coffee break

After having my coffee with Becca I saw a Portuguese student here whom I haven’t seen in ages. Had a chat with him and felt reinvigorated!!! I had the chance to speak Portuguese! I was able to express myself exactly as I wanted without having to think much on how to say things! I was able to be funny, sarcastic, use very particular Portuguese expressions! We had a good laugh!! I never thought I would have such a feeling of freedom and at ease.

And besides that it was great to speak to someone who comes from the same country and is in exactly the same situation as me! Knows how things work, how it feels to be away and is at exactly the same place as me. And I was happy to know that I’m not the only one thinking the way I do.  It seems like we have the same difficulties in understanding certain differences in culture.

Anyway, I missed home even more! Can’t wait to go back!   27th, I’ll be there! And this timeI’ll take some friends with me to see what I talk about so much.

I wish some of my friends here could speak Portuguese. One in particular It would make my life so much easier. And give me a break from all the English language
