Because it’s a rented house we have regular house inspections to see if we are not thrashing the place.
She was one hour early.
She took in total 1.5 min to inspect and take my remarks. I felt like I was in the middle of a tornado ![]()
When you depend on the help of an uptight, one track minded, humorless, unpractical, typical (like in the films) English Man. The ones you think don’t exist anymore.
Tudo bem. Mas zanguei-me! Zanguei-me a serio! So no extremo norte e Escocia.
Nao me parece bem.
So I leave Portugal, at the edge of a plate tectonic junction, loads of faults, one of the biggest earthquake in the history of men 200 years ago, lots of other smaller earthquakes, common thing, and in 29 years I only felt a small 4.6 which woke me up.
I come to England, far from any plate frontier, not a history of significant earthquakes, not expecting one at all and in 2 years I get woken up twice (!) with the house shaking. OK one was from the huge explosion on the fuel depot, but last night! last night was a 5.3 earthquake! Woke up in panic because I knew what it was and it didn’t feel natural to me to happen here. Scared the hell out of me. And Russ didn’t feel a thing, thought I was crazy ![]()
And it also took some time. It was quite long!
Being a geologist I know that it’s better to ‘let the steam out’ often and in small quantities and that the first is usually the strongest, but convince me to sleep afterward. Yeah right! Just wasn’t expecting such a thing here.
Olha q’esta hein?
Edit: It all over the news. It seems like it the strongest earthquake in 25 years.
Even since the last update, WordPress has been playing some tricks on me. Because now it decided to send an email to my subscribers everytime I edit a post to correct a mistake, it sends another email.
As I don’t wish to flood the inboxes of my subscribers and be added to the junk box I will not correct the mistakes for the time being. I just hope they are not that bad ![]()
With the template required and double spacing, writting 150 pages for a thesis will be a piece of cake (already on 50).
The problem will be writting something that makes sense ![]()
I’ve had enough of banging my head against the wall because of excel so I decided to have headaches because of Word for a change.
I always feel a bit low if I have to work out of hours. Especially when I’m alone. Fortunally that at the moment the work can be done form home so at least I have some company ![]()
Portugal is building the biggest solar power station in the world and the biggest wind powered station in Europe. It is expected that 45% of its electricity will come from renewables by 2010.
Very impressive!! Very very impressive!
But it has it’s costs… As all things have ![]()
