Walk

Went for a walk around campus (partially to stay awake ).

I think I went way too far. At some point I didn’t know exactly where I was but I would still see the OU buildings. The problem was finding a bridge to cross the river again.

It was a lovely walk (beautiful sites) and believe me it kept me awake, but next time I do this I need to remember to take a hat or a least a scarf. Or do it in the Summer. My face almost fell off .

Gym, sleeping, and other things

I am proud to say that we have been going to the gym in the mornings. we now wake up at 6am, though to give us more time to exercise. I must say I have no problems waking up at 6am. My problem is staying awake after lunch! For some bizarre reason I keep waking up at 3 or 4 in the morning and then I can’t go back to sleep

I don’t know what is wrong with me but I hope this changes fast. I have too much to do and it is very difficult to write up a PhD thesis when you are half asleep . I think my body is confused

Oh and my arms hurt!

After realising that all my time after work is spent on more work, training or job searching, it got to me that it would be impossible to go to the gym. So Russ suggested that we woke up early and go in he morning. He starts work at 8!

So in the last few days we’ve been waking up at 6.30 and going to the gym for half an hour. The idea is to go at least 4 times a week.

I can say that so far my body is a bit confused, wondering what the hell is happening, feeling like it was hit by a train. It is not used to wake up so early! But I think it’s working and soon we will get used to it. (Not to mention that we shower at the gym and save energy )

We’ll see how long it lasts

Found the way to do what I needed with the plots in the stupid program I’m using. It’s not very scientific, it’s a lot of work, but it works!

Been frying my brain for ages over it.

I was shocked to know that my wallet, which disappeared on Monday morning while I was shortly away from my desk, was found on the first floor with £40 missing.

When I realised I didn’t have the wallet at lunch time on Monday I even thought I might have been mistaken and left it at home or lost it somewhere. I cancelled all my cards as a result and accepted the fact that I had lost what was left of my Christmas money.

The fact that it was found today with no money on a place I’ve not been means that it was stolen by someone in the department! This is out of order! I already had to start locking my drawers some months ago because I noticed things disappeared, but this is appalling!

I was only away from my desk for about 10 min during Monday coffee. Most people were there so the area was left almost unattended.

I can’t explain how I feel right now thinking that someone who works in the same department did such thing, taking money from a student.
