I mean they want to know to spread the gossip about them knowing. I am sure this man knows, but is far too polite and far more confidential to spread the truth just to please a few gossip munching women. They can wait and find out like everyone else, later on. It's a bit ridiculous - they should be careful it's not their jobs. They are the sort of people who would “b****”, it is common for that thing to occur in that particular workplace.
